today i took a tour to the cu chi tunnels. about 90 minute drive outside of hcmc, the tunnels are where the viet cong waged dug in and defended against the american 85th infantry as well as waged guerilla warfare against saigon.
the tunnels were pretty intense.
they let us shoot some automatic weapons. “today i didn’t need to use my ak . . .gotta say it was a good day”
for the tourists (that’s me) they widened the tunnels and added lights. even then, i didn’t make it the full way with the heat.
it was a pretty intense day.
