still not a food blog: monday hot pot
there’s a lot of resources around the shanghai internets about hot pot and the various locales where one can partake in this winter-centric dining style, so i don’t feel i need the need to add to this.
but as this is my friend grace’s last full week and shanghai AND my super-awesome-cool friend abbie was up in shanghai for meetings, we gathered at hot pot king (huaihai lu and fuxing lu – 2nd floor) for some awesomeness.

Well that’s understandable. When I have hotpot the luncheon meat disappears quickly too!

Yeah, the last photo is by Cha’s. We were heading to HoF again for dessert, but then it wasn’t open so we took photos in the street instead.
I’m having trouble with my chinese wordpress plugin – what do you use to see Chinese characters?

Yes they close on Mondays.
I don’t use a plugin I just type normal Chinese or cut and paste and it works. Here, let me try:

Yeah, I’ve found it really odd. I can’t get Chinese to show up anywhere – except for the URLs.

I don’t think it’s a WordPress issue. I do not have any plugin or widget for Chinese characters. Could it be the server / host which can’t handle Asian character sets?

@sandy – I used to think my dad’s devotion to luncheon meat was strange (it was a result of growing up in post-war Hong Kong) but now I get it. My favorite way of eating it is in egg + luncheon meat sandwiches – Cha’s does a particularily tasty one.

Don’t see the characters either, only ??? … must be something about the editor or where you copied it from, since characters work with my errm and other’s wp blogs
