tai hing roast meat company

i really didn’t know tai hing was a hk-wide chain. i thought there were only the two stores – one in central and one in causeway bay.

apparently, they’re a special administration region wide chain.

Tai Hing is well-known for its “5-Star Roasted Pork” and “Chilled Original Milk Tea”. The Group is constantly injecting new elements in traditional food and innovating for more variety of food. The Group is also devoted to developing the retail market so that busy urban folks can enjoy the delicious products of Tai Hing anytime anywhere.

please develop the retail market in shanghai! and don’t screw it up like tsui wah did!

andrew and i went to the one in causeway bay for some cantonese style roasted meat.

12 years ago there was one where I lived in Shau Kei Wan (just east of Quarry Bay). I went often as it was one of the few places I could go and not need to struggle for hours trying to make sense of the meny. Also pork chop rice at Cafe De Coral (Dai Ka Lok).

WoAi – you know, all restaurants in HK are required, by law, to have bi-lingual menus right?

  3. WoAi says:

Yes but I feel a bit of a twat asking for an English menu while speaking perfect Cantonese. They tend to think I’m weird.

  4. WoAi says:

Sorry, when I said yes, I meant no, I didn’t know that. But thanks for telling me. I’m certain the noodle places I went to last week ALL did not have English anywhere in sight.

I get around the whole “not reading Chinese thing” by just ordering the things I like to eat or asking for recommendations.
