dumplings might be my favorite thing to eat in the world. or at least they’re among them, and one of my favorite spots in shanghai is northeastern four season dumpling king. because i was first introduced to them at the xuhui store of this chain, we often go there, but looking at dianping.com there’s a chain of them – and ones a lot closer to both work and home.
here’s the dianping.com review for a different branch, but the branch we usually go to (huashan road) strangely has no reviews.
we usually get a lot of things, but for me, the dumpling is king. and dongbei siji jiaowang has plenty to choose from.
clear noodles made from beans and peanut sauce:
pork stew with cellophane noodles in a clay pot
sweet corn pancake
the food is pretty good – but more importantly the cost-to-performance ratio is outstanding. 4 people ate heartily for 130 rmb or so.
northeast four season dumpling king
1631 huashan road (but many branches around the city)
price per person: 30 rmb
