Having just got off the plane from Shanghai and knowing that I was going to have handmade noodles the next day, I felt like I needed a control group. Oh and a new noodle place would be really awesome.
So within a few minutes walk of my friend Abbie’s apartment was “mentioned in the Michelin guide Wing Wah Noodle House”
The menu is typical for a HK noodle house.
But they handmake their noodles upstairs.
Just about my favorite meal on earth. Wonton soup noodles.
Was still hungry, so ordered some beef tendon mixed noodles (dry) as well

The verdict – well, certainly a lot more convenient than trekking out to Ping Kee. The noodles were all quite good, but not really good enough to displace my favorites at Tasty Wantun or Jim Tsai Kee. Great though, if you’re in Wanchai or Admiralty.

I always stay just across from Southorn Playground on Lockhart Road, so I’ll be sure to check it out next time. Although there’s a few noodle joints right opposite the playground without magazine accolades that are already way better than anything I could find in Shanghai!
@WoAi – I don’t think there’s really any noodle place here that does it well. At all. Not to the level that even an average place in HK does, nevermind a place that takes it very seriously.
how much did you spent for the meal? place is kinda spendy especially given the portion size shown, compared to won ton noodle @ sheung wan is about 15hkd range.

It certainly isn’t the cheapest wonton noodle place in the Hong Kong – especially, as you mention, one of my favorites at Tsim Chai Kee has much larger bowls of wonton for $17HKD. But the quality of the noodles here makes a big difference – I think the extra cost goes into making handmade.
