One of my favorite things about living in Houston was crawfish season. (Or crayfish. Or crawdads. Or little lobsters).
And its mainly a Louisana/Cajun thing. In Houston you’d go to your local ice house, get a bucket of crawfish and sit there and eat and soon be surrounded by caprices of a thousand dead soldiers, all red and spicy and with corn and potatoes.
Knowing this, I had spoken (bugged) Adam, the general manager of local bar
Apothecary the Public for many many months, until I last week I was here for drinks with a friend from out of town and he said “Wednesday. Come by. Crawfish boil.”
SO there we were. 6 pounds of crawfish. 4 people. And it was awesome. Not quite as spicy as I was used to in Houston (which was fine with me), but with delicious corn and sausage and mushrooms and amazingly good crawfish. Yum Yum Yum. I’m going to make this a regular thing – they’ll be serving it every Wednesday.
Damage? A not unreasonable 180 RMB / KG. 1 KG is probably good for two people.
